I remember Maureen O'Hara from one of my favorite movies of all time..

John Ford's "The Quiet Man" starring John Wayne, Maureen O'Hara, Ward Bond, Barry Fitsgerald, Victor McLaglen (almost stole the movie), and Mildred Natwick (fine character actress in her day). Directed by the great John Ford, the movie won two Oscars (including Ford for best director 1953) and was nominated for five others.

Maureen O'Hara was never more beautiful as Mary Kate Danaher a fiery red headed Irish beauty and sister of McLaglen's character Will Danaher.
The plot revolves around Wayne's character Sean Thorton who is cast in the title role "The Quiet Man".

Wayne after returning to the land of his birth to forget a life of struggle and violence. In the village of Inisfree, Wayne buys the cottage where he was born, immediately arousing the ire of Victor McLaglen, a well-to-do farmer who wanted the property himself.

His next mistake is to fall for Maureen O'Hara, McLaglen's sister. Custom decrees the brother must give consent to marriage, so Wayne's suit is hopeless until newly-made friends are able to trick McLaglen long enough to get the ceremony over with. Safely married, Wayne finds himself with a bride but not a wife.

Beautifully filmed picture made on location in Ireland.
